    We are pleased to invite you to participate in the Student Orientation program. We are excited that you have chosen to commence your Higher Education learning journey with us and we look forward to working with you in creating positive and valuable learning experiences during your time here.

    Orientation marks the start of your life at the Institute. The transition into Higher Education studies is a pivotal time in the academic, intellectual, social and emotional development of all students. Our Orientation Program is designed to assist you with this transition and help prepare you for studies by providing you with information that will guide your enrolment and the services in place to support you.

    Attending the Orientation Progeam will give you the best possible start to your study by allowing you to:

    ·         Get a taste of what is on campus in order to help establish and foster a sense of belonging and community

    ·         Meet the Ozford teaching staff who will showcase our student centered approach to teaching

    ·         Receive an overview of the services that are available to you as student of the Institute

    ·         Make new friends and discover the opportunities that await you

    We encourage all students to explore and read the information provided here before course commencement. You are welcome to access this section on Moodle at any time during your enrolment at the Institute. We wish you every success in your studies at Ozford and once again, “Welcome”!

  • IT and Moodle Resources

    Once enrolled, you will be provided with an Ozford email (sXXXXXX@ozford.edu.au) and access to Moodle with your own login and password.

    All important information will be communicated via email and Moodle. Course notices will also be posted by lecturers on their respective Moodle pages. You must ensure these are checked regularly.

  • Living in Australia

    Moving to a new country and starting student life again is an exciting and challenging experience. Being a student in a new country is more than attending classes and completing assessments – learning to use the library, eating, exercising, resting and fun is also part of student life!   • Student Safety

    Maintaining a safe physical and virtual learning environment is important in providing high quality education programs and positive learning experience to the students. The Institute acknowledges that student safety is paramount to student success and implements preventative measures to monitor and enhance student safety. The Institute has developed and implemented measures below to address student safety both on campus and online. There is also a suite of policies, procedures, programs, information including Staff and Student Handbook, Code of Conduct addressing safety matters.

  • Overseas Student Health Cover

    All international students on a student visa must have Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC). OSHC is insurance to assist international students meet the costs of medical and hospital care that they may need while in Australia.

    This is a condition of student visa. This cover provides medical and hospital insurance. Students and their dependants must maintain suitable OSHC for the duration of their visa.


    ·         ‘Know your OSHC (Overseas Student Health Cover) and what it pays for Use their websites or call them to know your health insurance benefits’

  • Student Visa Conditions and Requirements

    This section is applicable to students holding a student visa. Your visa is subject to a number of visa conditions that you must comply with.  Different visa conditions apply to you and members of your family unit. Breaching a visa condition may result in the cancellation of your visa.

    OIHE provide support to students to assist all students in achieving their full potential. We offer more than just high quality academic courses, we also provide comprehensive support services to help you to adjust to study and life in Australia. Whatever your needs are, we are help to help.

  • Social and Community Involvement

    Students from all over the world come to Melbourne to study. The City of Melbourne provides a range of services, advice and support for international students. There are also other external organisations that provides social opportunities, help and support to students.

    There are many ways you can get involved. Study Melbourne Student Centre is a good place as it is a "one stop show" where student can access free support, information and contacts to help students enjoy living and studying in Victoria. 

    Australian Federation of International Students (AFIS) and the Council of International Students Australia (CISA) are two Australia's peak representative organization for international students. You are encouraged to sign up with CISA and AFIS to get involved with the activities and programs organised by CISA and AFIS to enrich your study experience in Australia.
